Terraces of Kobar

Terraces of Kobar is a feature-length observational documentary rooted in the village of Kobar, northwest of Ramallah. It follows the filmmaker’s grandmother—a resilient farming woman—whose voice and presence guide a meditation on land, tradition, and cultural transformation under occupation. Through quiet observation and intimate storytelling, the film documents a disappearing agricultural landscape shaped by both ecological loss and colonial encroachment.

Filmed over several years and developed during the filmmaker’s MFA at Duke University, the project blends oral history, personal archive, and landscape cinematography to preserve intergenerational memory and the stories embedded in the land.
