When Weather Permits
This work reflects on longing, distance, and the spatial politics of occupation. For five years I returned to the highest point in my village in Ramallah where, on rare clear days, the Mediterranean Sea becomes faintly visible. Though geographically near, the sea remains politically unreachable for most Palestinians.
The work exists in three forms: a short film, a video installation, and a photo installation. Each centers on a quiet act of looking toward a place that cannot be reached and through an atmosphere shaped by climate and control. Together, they explore visibility, memory, and the poetics of absence.
